A Victor Central School District senior has been recognized for his dedication to serving children with visual impairments.
The district announced that Hudson Pender was recently honored by the Webster Lions Club for his volunteer work at Camp Smile, a summer program that serves blind and visually challenged children.
According to Victor Central Schools, Pender has spent the past five summers volunteering at the camp, helping children explore new activities, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful summer experiences.
In recognition of his service, the Webster Lions Club presented Pender with a certificate of appreciation and a $1,500 scholarship.
School officials praised Pender for his commitment to the camp and the positive impact he has made on the lives of the children he has worked with.
The district also recognized him as a role model for fellow students, noting that his years of volunteer service reflect the values of leadership, compassion, and community involvement.
