Canandaigua Woman Faces Petit Larceny Charge

On Thursday, Beth Smith, 41, of Canandaigua, was arrested by Canandaigua Police following a shoplifting investigation at a West Avenue business.

According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday, June 10, when Smith allegedly placed merchandise into her personal bag and left the store without paying for the items. Following the investigation, she was taken into custody and later released on an appearance ticket.

Smith is scheduled to appear in the City of Canandaigua Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
