Victor Man Arrested For Possessing Stolen Car

A Victor man was arrested Thursday evening by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into a suspicious condition in the Town of Huron.

Deputies arrested Thomas Tyman, 27, at approximately 6:00 p.m. in the area of Chimney Bluffs State Park. He faces charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

It is alleged that Tyman was driving a stolen vehicle out of the City of Syracuse. When the vehicle ran out of gas, he allegedly threw away the keys to the vehicle. Deputies subsequently located Tyman walking away from the vehicle on Garner Road.

Tyman was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
