Schuyler County is inviting the public to learn more about a planned bridge replacement project in the Town of Hector.

County officials, along with CHA Consulting, will hold a public informational meeting tonight at the Searsburg Community Church in Trumansburg. The 6 p.m. meeting will focus on the proposed replacement of the County Route 1 bridge over Bolter Creek.

Officials say the deteriorating bridge will be replaced with a longer span and raised roadway to improve flood resiliency and reduce the risk of debris blocking the structure. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027, with a detour planned during the project. Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments on the project.
