A Bath man faces a felony charge after allegedly failing to update his address registry requirements.

According to the Village of Bath Police Department, officers arrested 48-year-old Jason Welch after he allegedly moved from his previous address within the village of Bath and failed to register his new address within the legally required timeframe.

Police noted that Welch is a three-time convicted felon. Following the investigation into his address change, he was charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, which is classified as a Class E felony.

Welch was processed on the charge and subsequently transported to the Steuben County Jail, where he is currently being held without bail.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
