The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Wolcott man following a traffic stop investigation.

Deputies arrested Shawn Viele, 46, charged with Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, and issued a citation for failure to signal before 100 feet.

The charges stem from an investigation into a traffic stop on January 27th, where Viele was allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Viele was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Village of Wolcott Court on June 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM to answer the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
