Waterloo Man Accused in Geneva Domestic Burglary

Police Blotter

A Waterloo man faces a first-degree burglary charge following a domestic incident in the City of Geneva over the weekend.

On Tuesday morning, members of the City of Geneva Police Department’s Detective Bureau arrested Aleem Whitfield, 36, following a police response to a residence on Sunday. Detectives determined that Whitfield, a convicted felon, allegedly forced his way into the home and unlawfully remained inside, where he physically assaulted a female victim.

The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and was later released. Whitfield allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived, but turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Whitfield was processed at the Geneva Police Department and subsequently transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.

Investigators state that this was an isolated incident with no threat to the community, and additional charges are currently pending.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
