Lillian Edgington, a Scipio woman, has been accused of stealing from a local store.

On Monday, Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Scipio woman following an investigation into reported thefts from a Union Springs retail store.

Lillian Edgington, 20, was charged with Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.

The arrest stems from a report made on April 23, when deputies responded to the Dollar General in Union Springs for a larceny complaint. During the investigation, Asset Protection personnel alleged that an employee had been stealing from the store since January 20. The total amount stolen was reported to be $2,018.

Following the investigation, Edgington was informed of the charges and turned herself in at the Public Safety Building. She was processed and issued appearance tickets.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
