Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has announced that her office will host a webinar this week to help fire departments and emergency response organizations learn more about federal grant opportunities available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The virtual event will focus on FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program, which provides funding to fire departments and first responders for equipment, training, protective gear, vehicles, and other resources aimed at strengthening emergency response capabilities.

The webinar is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. and will be held via Zoom.

According to Tenney’s office, attendees will hear directly from a FEMA Fire Program representative, who will explain the current grant application process and answer questions from prospective applicants.

“Firefighters and first responders put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities,” Tenney said in a statement. “This webinar will help connect local departments and emergency personnel with federal resources that can strengthen their operations and better equip them to serve the people of Upstate New York.”

Officials are encouraging interested participants to submit questions in advance when registering so the presentation can address specific topics of interest.

Those wishing to participate can RSVP by emailing [email protected]. The webinar is open to fire departments, emergency service organizations, and others interested in learning more about the federal grant program.
