New York State Police investigate a fatal crash scene, marked by police tape, where a motorcyclist was killed in Tioga County.

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an SUV early Wednesday morning in the Town of Owego.

Troopers were dispatched at approximately 3:52 a.m. to the intersection of State Route 434 and Forest Hill Road following reports of a crash with injuries. When emergency responders arrived, they found a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV. State Police said troopers and emergency medical personnel immediately began life-saving measures, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation determined that an SUV traveling on Forest Hill Road entered the intersection with State Route 434. Police said the driver of the SUV did not see the motorcycle traveling on Route 434, and the motorcycle struck the side of the vehicle.

The driver of the SUV was transported to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for evaluation and treatment. State Police said the driver is cooperating with investigators.

The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The crash remains under investigation by the New York State Police.
