On Tuesday, Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Rushville man following a drug possession incident in the Town of Potter.

At approximately 8:55 p.m., Yates County deputies responded to 53 South Main Street in the Village of Rushville to assist Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies who were effecting an arrest. While Ontario County deputies were making contact with Jeremy Borsching, they witnessed a small plastic baggie containing a white, crystal-like substance fall from his person.

The substance is believed to be crack cocaine. Ontario County deputies advised Yates County deputies of the discovery, and Borsching was subsequently arrested. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Borsching was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in the Town of Potter Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
