Penn Yan Man Accused of Violating Order of Protection

On Wednesday, Kevin DuRoss, 50, of Penn Yan, was arrested by the Penn Yan Police Department following a report of an order of protection violation.

Police were advised that a village resident, who holds an active stay-away order of protection against DuRoss, had DuRoss inside their residence. Responding officers located DuRoss within the home and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the police department for processing and later released on an appearance ticket.

DuRoss is accused of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and is scheduled to answer the charge in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
