A wooden boardwalk leads to an observation blind at a marsh trail, likely in Onondaga County, which has recently reopened.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced the Stanley J. Hamlin Marsh Wildlife Management Area (WMA) trail at the Old Wetzel Road access in the Town of Clay is now open.

DEC temporarily closed the Onondaga County trail to conduct a cleanup after a fire on May 13, which destroyed a boardwalk and viewing blind.

DEC Division of Law Enforcement’s investigation into the fire remains open, and DEC asks anyone with information related to this incident to call (315) 426-7431.
