Brandin Brown, a Moravia man, was arrested after allegedly resisting arrest, according to local police reports.

On Monday, deputies with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 40-year-old Moravia man following a confrontation during a separate investigation.

According to Sheriff Brian Schenck, deputies were on the scene of a reported burglary at approximately 7:35 p.m. when they discovered that Brandin Brown had an active arrest warrant out of Cortland County. When deputies informed Brown that he was under arrest for the warrant, he allegedly refused to cooperate and resisted being placed into custody.

Brown was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building for processing. He was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and Resisting Arrest.

Following his processing in Cayuga County, Brown was transported to the county line and turned over to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for their warrant. He is scheduled to appear in Moravia Village Court on May 18.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
