A Ledyard man is facing felony burglary and child endangerment charges following two investigations in Cayuga County earlier this month.
Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck said deputies responded May 14 to a reported domestic incident in the Town of Ledyard. By the time deputies arrived, the suspect had reportedly been given a ride to another location by a third party. During the investigation, deputies determined that 44-year-old John Nobles had engaged in behavior that endangered the welfare of children at the residence.
Later that evening, Cayuga County 911 received a report of a burglary at a home in the Town of Genoa, where items had been stolen. Sheriff’s Office detectives later located Nobles in the Town of Ledyard and took him into custody. Authorities said property reported stolen in the burglary was found in his possession.
Nobles was charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in CAP Court on May 15 and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
