A Syracuse woman faces grand larceny charges and an extradition warrant after allegedly shoplifting from a Junius business.

On May 23, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Seneca County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Isophine Butts, stemming from an investigation into four separate incidents where Butts allegedly entered a local business in the Town of Junius and left without paying for several items. Authorities state the total value of the stolen property was $1,523.57.

Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that Butts was also wanted on a full extradition warrant out of Pennsylvania for failing to appear in court to answer aggravated assault charges.

Butts was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and being a fugitive from justice. She was held at the jail awaiting arraignment at the Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
