A Newfield man has been arrested following an investigation into stolen credit cards and alleged fraudulent purchases in the Village of Interlaken.

According to the Interlaken Police Department, Robert J. Porter was arrested on May 22 and charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of third-degree identity theft, and one count of attempted third-degree identity theft.

Police said the charges stem from an incident in December 2025 in which Porter allegedly stole credit cards from multiple victims in the village and later used the cards at businesses throughout Interlaken.
