Phelps Man Arrested After Geneva Fights

On Saturday, Geneva Police arrested a 30-year-old Phelps resident following an altercation at the Byrne Dairy convenience store.

According to authorities, officers responded to the scene after a complaint was filed and observed Christopher Chilson engaged in a physical fight with a Byrne Dairy employee. When officers attempted to detain Chilson, he allegedly began to fight with them as well.

Officers were eventually able to subdue the suspect. One police officer suffered an injury during the arrest but did not seek medical attention.

Chilson was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
