A Town of Geneva man was arrested Tuesday night after police said stolen items taken from a vehicle earlier this month were recovered during a parole search.
According to the Geneva Police Department, 32-year-old Kyle Swanson’s arrest stems from an incident on May 14 in which he allegedly entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a New York State driver’s license and a credit card.
Authorities said both items were later recovered during a parole search of Swanson’s hotel room.
Swanson was charged with one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of petit larceny. He was processed at the Geneva Police Department before being transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Police said Swanson, who they identified as a convicted felon, was held without bail and is scheduled to reappear in Geneva City Court at a later date.
The department noted this is the second time Swanson has been arrested by Geneva Police since being released from state prison on May 13.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
