Rochester Man Arrested After Violent Dispute in Canandaigua

On Thursday, Robert Brooks, 34, of Rochester, was arrested for Strangulation in the Second Degree following a report of a disturbance at a West Gibson Street address in Canandaigua.

Pursuant to the investigation, it was determined that Brooks allegedly choked another person to the point of stupor during the dispute. Brooks is also accused of striking the victim several times and threatening them with a pair of scissors.

Brooks was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
