A Canandaigua man was arrested Monday night following a roadside investigation in the Town of Hopewell, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they responded around 9:36 p.m. to County Road 50 in Hopewell for a disturbance involving a black SUV belonging to the defendant. During the investigation, deputies identified the registered owner as 66-year-old Guy Green. Authorities said further investigation determined Green allegedly had cocaine.
Green was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
