Canandaigua Man Charged After Gun Threat Complaint

Police Blotter

A Canandaigua man was arrested following a disturbance investigation at Camelot Court earlier this month.

According to police, 41-year-old Kyle Morphy was arrested May 5 at approximately 2:26 p.m. and charged with second-degree menacing.

Investigators say Morphy displayed what appeared to be a handgun from his waistband and placed it on a desk while speaking with another person. Police said Morphy then manipulated the weapon in a manner that caused a female victim to fear injury. Authorities later determined the weapon was a less-than-lethal handgun.

Morphy was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
