A homeless man faces a criminal contempt charge following an investigation into a protection order violation by village police.
On May 26, the Village of Bath Police Department responded to a report of a potential order of protection violation. Following an investigation, officers determined that Jackie Fisher, 52, had allegedly violated a full stay-away order of protection. Authorities state that surveillance footage captured Fisher in the presence of the protected party. An arrest warrant was subsequently requested and issued by Bath Village Court, charging Fisher with one count of second-degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor.
On May 27, Fisher was taken into custody and arraigned in Bath Village Court.
He was sent to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of bail.
