Bath Man Accused of Assault

A Bath man was arrested following a domestic incident on East Washington Street, according to the Village of Bath Police Department.

Police say officers were dispatched to a residence on Wednesday at approximately 6:19 a.m. for a report of a physical domestic dispute in progress.

Following an investigation, officers determined that a woman had allegedly been assaulted by her husband in the presence of their children, resulting in physical injury.

As a result, 32-year-old Robert Stevens was charged with third-degree assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. All charges are Class A misdemeanors.

Stevens was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment before being released on the charges.

The charges will be answered in court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
