Cayuga Man Charged in Auburn Debit Card Theft

Police Blotter

A Cayuga man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after Auburn Police say he used a family member’s debit card to make an unauthorized ATM withdrawal.

According to a media release from the Auburn Police Department, 21-year-old Amonti Fletcher turned himself in at Auburn Police Headquarters on May 7 in connection with an outstanding arrest warrant.

Police said the investigation began in April after a family member reported an unauthorized debit card transaction at the Kwik Fill gas station in Auburn. Investigators reviewed video footage that allegedly showed Fletcher making a withdrawal from the ATM.

Authorities said the victim reported the debit card missing after Fletcher had been at her residence the day before.

Fletcher, who lists a Cayuga address, was processed and arraigned in Auburn City Court before being released.

He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class E felony, and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
