A Pedal in the Park event on Friday will let children in the northern end of Cayuga County learn about bicycle, pedestrian, and wheel sport safety.

Cayuga County Health Department Injury Prevention Coordinator Joe Muschock will be at Fair Haven Beach State Park at 10:00a in the Beach Canoe lot to highlight bicycle, wheel sport, and pedestrian safety.

Children 3-14 are encouraged to bring their bikes, scooters, or other wheels to learn about safety protocol and participate in a safety course.

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to attend and learn how to reinforce the rules of the road and safety protocols.

No-cost bike helmets will also be available for those in need of them.
