New York State Park Police conducted a search and rescue for a lost cross-country skier at Allegany State Park Wednesday evening. The man, 59, was reported lost near the Art Roscoe and Ryan Trails.

Park Police first contacted the man via cell phone. Next, with assistance from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department, used a drone to pinpoint his location. A Park Police Officer then used a tracked UTV to pick him up.

Park Police say the lost skier was reported to their office at 7:13 pm and he was escorted out at 9:22 pm in good health.
