Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has endorsed Kailee Buller in the race for New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
In a social media post made at the future site of Micron Technology’s planned development in Central New York, Tenney praised Buller and called her “a fantastic partner and a fantastic representative for our community.”
NY-22 consists of all of Madison and Onondaga Counties, and parts of Cortland, Oneida, and Cayuga counties, including Auburn, Aurora, Fleming, Genoa, Ledyard, Locke, Moravia, Niles, Owasco, Scipio, Sempronius, Sennett, Springport, Summerhill, Union Springs, and Venice.
Buller, an Auburn native, is a food and economic policy advocate and working mother who says her campaign will focus on affordability, economic opportunity, and support for working families and farmers.
Buller said, “Congresswoman Tenney’s is a tenacious leader who fights for what is right and I am honored to have her support. Central New York has a once-in-a-generation opportunity in front of us with Micron and the economic growth coming to our region, but families are still struggling with rising costs, high taxes, and an affordability crisis that’s making it harder to get ahead. I’m running to make sure Central New York workers and families actually benefit from this moment — with better jobs, lower costs, and leadership focused on results instead of political theater. I look forward to working alongside my partner Congresswoman Tenney to deliver game changing results for our community.”
According to her campaign, Buller previously served as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has held senior leadership positions within the federal government and national policy organizations. In those roles, she worked on agriculture policy, small business support, food supply chain issues, and energy-related initiatives.
Her campaign said Buller has focused on reducing regulatory barriers, strengthening American agriculture, and creating economic opportunities.
Buller grew up in Auburn in what her campaign described as a blue-collar family. Her father worked for more than four decades as a correctional officer at Auburn Correctional Facility, while her mother works as a nurse caring for Alzheimer’s patients.
She was the first in her family to earn a four-year college degree, graduating from the University at Buffalo. Buller and her husband, Eric, are raising three children.
Buller said she is running to restore affordability, strengthen public trust, and put Central New York families first. She will challenge incumbent Democrat John Mannion.
