Schuyler County officials are inviting residents to learn more about a planned bridge replacement project in the Town of Hector during a public informational meeting next week

The county, in cooperation with CHA Consulting, Inc., will host the meeting on June 4 at 6 p.m. at the Searsburg Community Church on Trumansburg Road in Trumansburg.

According to the announcement, the meeting will focus on the proposed County Route 1 over Bolter Creek bridge replacement project. Residents attending the session will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide oral or written comments about the project. Representatives from CHA will also be available to discuss details one-on-one.

Officials said the project will replace the deteriorated bridge carrying County Route 1 over Bolter Creek. The span length will be increased to improve hydraulic resiliency, and the bridge will be raised above the roadway to help reduce the potential for flooding and obstruction of the structure.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2027. A detour will be in place throughout construction.

The project is funded through the BridgeNY program, with 95 percent federal funding and 5 percent local funding.
