A vehicle fire inside a garage prompted a response from multiple emergency agencies in Seneca Falls late Sunday afternoon, but no injuries were reported and damage to the home was limited.

According to the Seneca Falls Police Department, officers were dispatched to a structure fire on Chapel Street at approximately 4:59 p.m. A neighbor who reported the fire also helped the resident safely evacuate the home before emergency crews arrived.

Police said responding officers confirmed a fire in the garage and verified that all occupants were safely out of the residence. Chapel Street was temporarily closed as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

The Seneca Falls Fire Department quickly brought the fire under control and determined the blaze originated from a vehicle parked inside the garage. Authorities said the fire caused only minimal damage to the structure.

Officials said the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature at this time.

The Waterloo Fire Department, Fayette Fire Department, and North Seneca Ambulance assisted at the scene.
