About 30 senior high school students from Clyde-Savannah recently completed Teen Mental Health First Aid training designed to help them recognize and respond to peers struggling with mental health challenges or substance abuse issues.

According to the district, the program teaches students how to identify warning signs and connect classmates with trusted adults who can provide support and assistance.

School officials said the training is modeled after traditional medical first aid programs, focusing on early intervention and peer support.

Students completed six 45-minute sessions as part of the certification process. Following the training, participants celebrated with an ice cream social.
