Penn Yan Community Cafe and Keuka Advocacy Services are inviting community members to attend a public meeting on Monday to discuss plans for a permanent warming and cooling center in Penn Yan.
The meeting will be held on from 3 to 4 p.m. at 142 Main Street in Penn Yan.
Organizers say the meeting will focus on sharing a vision for a permanent space that could provide rest, safety, and relief for residents during periods of extreme cold or heat.
According to the organizations, Penn Yan currently does not have a permanent warming and cooling center, something they say is a growing need within the community.
Community members are encouraged to attend and share their input as discussions move forward. Organizers say the effort is rooted in supporting neighbors and strengthening community care.
The event is open to the public.
