Downtown Penn Yan will once again be filled with classic cars, live music, food, and family activities when Cruisin’ Night & Block Party returns on Friday.

The annual event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. along Main Street. Organizers expect as many as 200 classic and specialty vehicles to participate.

The Downtown Business Council assumed responsibility for the event from the Yates County Chamber of Commerce last year and is continuing the tradition with a full slate of entertainment and activities.

Live music will be provided by Madelyn Rose’s full band and Decades Band. The performances are sponsored by WaxPax Records and the Yates Concert Series.

Downtown businesses, art centers, and restaurants will remain open throughout the evening. Organizers encourage visitors to consider making reservations at local restaurants if needed.

Several food vendors will also be stationed at the intersections of Main Street with Jacob Street and Lake Street. Participating vendors include Chris B., 3 Rivers Hots & Brats, Wholesome Wonders, Rise & Thrive Coffee, Moonchot’s Authentic Thai Cuisine, Seneca Farms, Jenny Drink-Ups, Elks Lodge 1722, and Honey Bee Home Bakes.

Families will find a children’s activity area hosted by Mozaic adjacent to the car display. Activities will include cotton candy, popcorn, crafts, a balloon artist, and face painting.

The event is supported by numerous local sponsors, including The Flower Cart and Gift Shop, Coach & Equipment Manufacturing Corporation, Friendly Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of Penn Yan, Lake Beverage, the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, Cam’s NY Pizzeria, Walton’s Service Center, Payroll Vault, Mozaic, and Main Street Laundromat.
