Lyons Inmate Charged With Assaulting Sergeant

A Lyons man was arrested following an incident at the Wayne County Jail, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, detectives arrested 33-year-old Michael Pryce for two counts of Assault in the Second Degree and one count of Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.

It is alleged that Pryce, while incarcerated at the Wayne County Jail on unrelated charges, caused physical injury to a Wayne County Corrections Sergeant. The sergeant was reportedly attempting to prevent Pryce from fighting another incarcerated individual when the injury occurred.

Pryce remained in the custody of the Wayne County Jail and is scheduled to appear before the Wayne County Centralized Arraignment Part Court to answer to the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
