A Geneva man is facing a misdemeanor charge after police say he threatened another person with a handgun while walking along Wadsworth Street early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the area around 1 a.m. Dec. 28 for a report of a person with a handgun. Following an investigation, police determined that 29-year-old Tyler Liberatore threatened another individual while armed.
Several hours later, members of the Geneva Police Department’s Detective Bureau, assisted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, located Liberatore at the Byrne Dairy on Border City Road. He was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators said the incident was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Liberatore was processed at the Geneva Police Department and transported to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment. He is charged with menacing in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Police said additional charges are pending.
