Voters in New York’s 24th Congressional District will get a chance to hear directly from the two Democrats competing for their party’s nomination.

Alissa Ellman and Diana Kastenbaum are scheduled to meet in a public debate on Wednesday at the Smith Opera House in Geneva. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is being hosted by the Seneca County and Ontario County Democratic committees.

The debate is open to the public at no cost and comes just weeks before the June 23rd Democratic primary.

Whoever wins that contest will earn the Democratic nomination and advance to November’s general election, where they’ll challenge incumbent Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney for the 24th District seat.
