The Bellona Fire Department has added a new piece of rescue equipment to its fleet, becoming the first department in the United States to receive a newly released rescue tool platform from AMKUS Rescue Systems.
According to Jerome Fire Equipment, the department recently took delivery of the first AMKUS Milwaukee platform tool sold in the country. The new equipment is part of the company’s Light Rescue Series Combination Tool lineup.
Department officials said the new tool was purchased using money raised through the department’s annual fundraising efforts.
In a social media post, the Bellona Fire Department thanked community members for their continued support, saying the equipment will help firefighters better serve the community during rescue operations.
Jerome Fire Equipment also recognized Bellona Fire Chief Steve Zimmerman, Deputy Chief Brian Murphy, and department members for the purchase, calling it a milestone that reflects the department’s commitment to modern rescue technology and improved responder efficiency.
The combination rescue tool is designed to assist firefighters and emergency crews during vehicle extrications and other rescue situations by combining multiple rescue functions into a single portable device.
