“Street Outlaws” Star Arrested in Bath

Daddy Dave, a longtime star of the Discovery Channel series Street Outlaws, was arrested in Steuben County this week following an investigation into alleged vehicle tampering in the Village of Bath.

According to the Bath Police Department, officers responded around 11 p.m. Tuesday to a report of someone tampering with a vehicle on Buell Street.

Police said video footage from the scene allegedly showed a man reaching underneath a parked vehicle. Investigators identified the individual as David Comstock, 53, of Mustang, Oklahoma, known to television audiences as “Daddy Dave.”

Authorities allege Comstock placed a GPS tracking device on the vehicle in an attempt to track another person’s location.

Bath Village Police Chief Donald Lewis told TMZ that the victim recognized Comstock from Ring camera footage and contacted police.

According to Lewis, Comstock also contacted police and later cooperated with investigators. Officers subsequently located the GPS tracking device attached to the vehicle.

Comstock was charged with third-degree tampering and fourth-degree stalking, both misdemeanors.

Police said Comstock was taken into custody Wednesday morning, processed at the Steuben County Jail, and later released following arraignment.

A judge also issued a restraining order directing Comstock to stay away from the alleged victim.

Chief Lewis declined to comment on a possible motive.

Comstock has appeared on “Street Outlaws” since the racing reality show debuted on Discovery Channel in 2013.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
