Celestino Nieves was arrested in Bath, New York, for allegedly violating a protection order.

On Monday, the Bath Police Department responded to an apartment building on West Washington Street in the Village of Bath following a report of an order of protection violation.

The protected party and a witness informed officers that Celestino Nieves violated a complete stay-away order of protection. Police noted the order of protection had been issued after Nieves allegedly threatened the victim with a knife in late April.

At approximately 4:27 p.m., officers arrested Nieves, 32, of Bath. He was charged with second-degree Criminal Contempt, a class A misdemeanor.

Nieves was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail, where he was subsequently released without bail.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
