More than 50 people attended the event, which recognized foster parents for the care and support they provide to children facing difficult circumstances.
County officials and community leaders gathered for the evening of dinner, fellowship, and recognition, thanking foster families for opening their homes and helping provide stability, guidance, and support for children in need.
Lise Reynolds, Deputy Commissioner of the Steuben County Department of Social Services, led the program and recognized the contributions foster families continue to make throughout the county.
Steuben County Legislature Chair Kelly Fitzpatrick also addressed attendees and read an official proclamation declaring May as Foster Parent Appreciation Month in Steuben County.
Speakers throughout the evening emphasized the lasting impact foster parents can have on children by providing not only a safe home but also encouragement, patience, and a sense of belonging during challenging times.
