An Aurelius man is facing criminal charges following a domestic dispute at a local residence.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kurtis Pearsall, 40, of Aurelius, on charges of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, and Aggravated Family Offense.

Deputies were originally dispatched to the residence at 12:11 AM on May 18 for a reported domestic incident. Following an interview with a female victim, it is alleged that Pearsall was involved in a physical altercation in the presence of a child under the age of 17. The victim also reported that Pearsall damaged her phone during the incident. Due to past domestic-related convictions, the felony charge of Aggravated Family Offense was added.

Pearsall was transported to Centralized Arraignment and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or a $1,000 bond.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
