William Smith Freshman Named Cross Country Rookie of the Week

William Smith first-year Bella Miller (Fonda-Fultonville/Fonda, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week by the conference office today.

The Herons competed in the Hamilton Short Course Tune-Up on Saturday morning. Miller led William Smith to the finish line. She covered the 4-kilometer course in 17:06.2 to place 24th out of 72 runners. One of the Herons’ top runners this season, Saturday marked the first time she has been the first William Smith finisher.

The Hamilton Tune-Up was the Herons final race before the Liberty League Championships, Nov. 2 in Canton, New York. The women’s 6K is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
