The Keuka College Men’s Soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat at home against Nazareth University on Saturday in an Empire 8 matchup at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
First-year goalkeeper Logan Karn (Caledonia, N.Y. / Caledonia-Mumford) tied his career high with nine saves, keeping the Wolves in the game despite being outshot 35-1. Keuka College (0-8, 0-3 Empire 8) trailed 2-0 at halftime after Nazareth scored just 31 seconds into the match and added a second goal five minutes later.
Nazareth extended their lead early in the second half and sealed the victory with a final goal in the closing minutes. The Wolves had a brief offensive surge late in the game, including a shot from Timothy Cowin (Syracuse, N.Y. / Westhill) that resulted in a corner kick, but they could not convert.
Notes:
- Keuka College is now 3-10 all-time against Nazareth and 1-4 since joining the Empire 8 Conference.
- Karn leads the Empire 8 with 52 saves this season and is nearing the top 25 nationally in saves per game.
- Saturday marked the most shots by a Keuka opponent since Alfred University fired 40 shots in 2011.
