Wegmans has opened a new store in New York and has announced five more openings coming up in the northeast. The grocery chain has opened its latest store in Lake Grove on Long Island. In the planning stages are stores in Norwalk, Connecticut, its first in that state, Charlotte and Holly Springs, North Carolina, Rockville, Maryland and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When the Connecticut store opens, Wegmans will have stores in ten states and the District of Columbia. The company says it’s working on plans for other sites. There are no Wegmans in eastern New York. The easternmost store in the Empire State is in Johnson City, near Binghamton.
