Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating after a U.S. Postal Service employee was shot early Thursday morning in the parking lot of the Jefferson Road post office in Henrietta.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened around 12:40 a.m. At a news conference, Deputy David Marcucci said the victim was sitting in their personal vehicle when a suspect fired at both the person and the car before fleeing the scene.

The postal worker was taken to the hospital and has since been released. Investigators are continuing to search for the suspect.
