Two of the three Central New York children stabbed by their mother are no longer in the hospital and the third is expected to be released in the next several days.

In its latest report about the Friday morning incident, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office said that after the children’s mom, 58-year-old Joan Stearns, stabbed her three kids, she returned to their home and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The hospitalized child was upgraded from critical to good condition on Sunday.
