Troopers Investigating Fatal Oswego County Barn Fire

A barn in Oswego County shows extensive damage after a fatal fire that is currently under investigation by state troopers.

State Police are investigating a Monday night barn fire that killed an Oswego County man.

Troopers say they responded to 133 Gale Road in the town of Constantia just before 5:00p for the report of an explosion and structure fire.

Upon arrival, fire personnel began battling the fully engulfed barn with a person reportedly trapped inside. Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters found the body of 25-year-old Benjamin Swistak of Constantia.

An investigation into the fire’s cause is ongoing.
