Troopers Injured After Cruiser Crashes During Rochester Pursuit

Two State Troopers were injured Monday after their patrol car struck a tree during the pursuit of a stolen car in the city of Rochester.

The unit from SP Rochester was pursuing a stolen 2020 Hyundai Elantra in the area of Silver Street and Kensington Street shortly after 6 p.m. The vehicle had three occupants, two males and one female. The New York State Police marked patrol car struck a tree during the pursuit. Both troopers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The suspect vehicle continued and was located unoccupied on Superior Street in Rochester. The New York State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the three occupants in the vehicle.

The New York State Police Forensic Identification Unit, Collision Reconstruction Unit, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Rochester Police Department are assisting in this ongoing criminal investigation.
