Tornado Touches Down in Buffalo Monday

An overturned car with New York license plate KLS-7944 sits in a Buffalo parking lot following a tornado touchdown on Monday.

The National Weather Service confirmed a EF-1 tornado touched down on the west side of downtown Buffalo Monday afternoon.

The length of the tornado was 1.4 miles and the maximum path width was 300 yards. The tornado started at I-190 at the Niagara Street exit at 12:45 p.m. and ended at Tupper and Oak streets at 12:51 p.m. Its estimated the main wind speed was 90 miles per hour.
