Memorial Day usually means cookouts with hamburgers and hot dogs.  In Ononodaga County, Monday’s cookout included a swan.

Syracuse dot com reports a mother swan, taken from the Village of Manlius, was killed and eaten on Memorial Day. Manlius police say three Syracuse teenagers ages 16, 17, and 18 have been arrested.

The swan, named Faye and her four babies were stolen last weekend.  Two babies were recovered in a shopping center, the other two in a Syracuse home.

The babies or cygnets are currently in the care of a biologist, who oversees the health and well-being of the swans for the village.
